Long ago, Christian priests already translated, very skillfully and accurately, many Christian songs into Vietnamese for Vietnamese Christians to sing; for instance, the Nativity song: ‘God the Son is Born into Humanity’ (il est né le devin enfant).

“Tôi tin kính Dêu là đí gì? Nghĩa điếu ấy là con mắt thịt xem chẳng thấy, thì phải tin có Dêu, lại phải tín có một Dêu, chẳng phải nhiều.”

What does ‘I believe in God’ mean? It means that [when] the naked eyes [of one's own] cannot see, then [one] must believe there is God; and must also believe that there is only one God, not many.
