“וַיִּמְשְׁכוּ וַיַּעֲלוּ אֶת יוֹסֵף מִן הַבּוֹר”

and they drew and lifted up Joseph out of the pit

“אָנֹכִי אֵרֵד עִמְּךָ מִצְרַיְמָה וְאָנֹכִי אַעַלְךָ גַם עָלֹה”

I will go down with thee into Egypt; and I will also surely bring thee up again

“וַיַּעַל עֹלֹת בַּמִּזְבֵּחַ”

and offered burnt offerings on the altar

“אין מעלין לכהונה על פי עד אחד”
