Boca de forma aproximadamente circular ubicada en volcanes y planetas, ya sea formada por el impacto de meteoritos o formaciones geológicas de manera natural. En el caso de los volcanes, el cráter puede arrojar humo, lava y ceniza cuando éste está en actividad. En cualquiera de los casos, los cráteres son considerados depresiones topográficas.
