Definitions

  1. An object whose nature is yet to be defined.
  2. Of, relating to, or being a member of a specified age range. Often used in combination: "the lives and loves of hip, twentysomething city dwellers" (Joseph P. Kahn).
  3. An object whose name is forgotten by, unknown or unimportant to the user, e.g., from words of a song. Also used to refer to an object earlier indefinitely referred to as 'something' (pronoun sense).
  4. One that is very special or quite remarkable: Her new film is something else.
  5. One that exists independently:being, entity, existence, existent, individual, object, thing.
  6. (American) somewhat; to a certain extent. I think we've progressed some.   9. in some way not known for certain.
