A coastal geographical region in Western Europe, along the southeastern corner of the North Sea in what today is mostly a large part of the Netherlands (including the present-day province of Frisia; see below) and smaller parts of northern Germany (including present-day East Frisia). It is the traditional homeland of the Frisians. historical
