In a joint declaration between Germany and Namibia, the German government for the first time officially recognizes the atrocities committed by the Prussian(-led German) army ([predecessor to] today's Germany) in the territory which is now Namibia as a ‘genocide’.

In the end, the Holocaust robbed over six million Jews of their lives – most being killed after the Wannsee Conference. Those who participated in that conference were all educated and ‘cultured’. Yet they were key figures in the genocide of Jews.
