“לְמַעַן־שִׁמְךָ יְהוָה תְּחַיֵּנִי בְּצִדְקָתְךָ תוֹצִיא מִצָּרָה נַפְשִׁי׃”

For Thy name's sake, O LORD, quicken me; In Thy righteousness bring my soul out of trouble.

“רְאוּ עַתָּה כִּי אֲנִי אֲנִי הוּא וְאֵין אֱלֹהִים עִמָּדִי אֲנִי אָמִית וַאֲחַיֶּה מָחַצְתִּי וַאֲנִי אֶרְפָּא וְאֵין מִיָּדִי מַצִּיל׃”

See now that I, even I, am He, And there is no god with Me; I kill, and I make alive; I have wounded, and I heal; And there is none that can deliver out of My hand.

“הוּא הָיָה אוֹמֵר: הַיִּלּוֹדִים לָמוּת, וְהַמֵּתִים לְהֵחָיוֹת, וְהַחַיִּים לִדּוֹן׃”

He would say: The born will die, and the dead will be resurrected, and the living will be judged.

“שָׁאֲלוּ מִינִין אֶת רַבָּן גַּמְלִיאֵל: מִנַּיִין שֶׁהַקָּדוֹשׁ בָּרוּךְ הוּא מְחַיֶּה מֵתִים? אָמַר לָהֶם, מִן הַתּוֹרָה וּמִן הַנְּבִיאִים וּמִן הַכְּתוּבִים, וְלֹא קִיבְּלוּ מִמֶּנוּ.”

Heretics asked Rabban Gamliel: From where [is it derived] that the Holy Blessed One resurrects the dead? He said to them: From the Torah, the Prophets, and the Hagiographa, but they did not receive it from him.
