Yet there shall be left therein gleanings, as at the beating of an olive-tree, two or three berries in the top of the uppermost bough, four or five in the branches of the fruitful tree, saith the LORD, the God of Israel.

“רִבִּי יִשְׁמָעֵאל בֵּי רִבִּי יוֹסֵי אָמַר מִשּׁוּם אָבִיו אֶשְׁכּוֹל שֶׁבִּיכֵּר בּוֹ גַּרְגִּר יְחִידִי כּוּלּוֹ חִיבּוּר לְמַעְשְׂרוֹת”

Rabbi Ishmael son of Rabbi Yose said in his father's name: a cluster where a single grape ripened is all connected for tithes.

“שְׁנֵי גַרְגְּרִים, פֶּרֶט, וּשְׁלשָׁה אֵינָן פֶּרֶט.”

Two grapes are gleanings, and three grapes are not gleanings.
