Section 825 If an agent enters into a contract with a third person in consideration of the compensation, [whether it be] property of any kind or other benefit, which the third person has given or has made a promise to give [to the agent] as [his] personal enrichment, LORD says the principal needs not to be bound by the contract so made by his agent, save where the principal has given [his] consent thereto.
