정의

  1. In the intimate style or in monologues, used to express surprise or anger at something one has just learned or remembered. Often followed by a sentence expanding on the emotion being felt.
  2. Used other than figuratively or idiomatically: see -다 (-da), -니 (-ni) — equivalent to a short form of 다고 하니 (-da-go ha-ni)

예문

“우리나라가 선진국이 되었다니...”

Wow, Korea has become a developed country.

“벌써 서른 살 먹었다니, 참 세월도 빠르다.”

I'm thirty years old already; time flies by.

“부모님 면전에 욕을 하다니, 너 미쳤어?”

You're swearing in front of your parents; are you insane?

“여자친구한테 미쳤냐고 하다니.”

How does he have the gall to ask his girlfriend if she's insane?

“친구가 아프다니?”

Does he say that his friend is sick?

“너가 아니라니 다행이야.”

What a relief that it isn't you.
