Examples

“Orvos lettem.”

I have become (or I became) a doctor.

“Legszívesebben orvos lettem volna.”

I’d have preferably become a doctor or What I wanted to do best was become a doctor.

“Ha metróval jövök (or jöttem volna), időben itt lettem volna.”

If I had taken the subway, I would have been here on time.

“Ha itt lettem volna, segítettem volna.”

If I had been here, I would have helped [you].
