  2. Any of various insects of the order Hemiptera (the "true bugs"), in the suborder Heteroptera, principally in the superfamily Pentatomoidea or Coreoidea.
  3. A pinacate beetle or stink beetle (genus Eleodes) that releases a pungent odor when threatened.
