picker-to-parts
Definitions
An order picking method where the picker goes in the direction of the goods for retrieval.
Examples
“Traditional picker-to-parts systems are rarely suitable for these requirements. For example, in picker-to-parts systems that are operated with a pick-by-order strategy, customer orders are picked individually on a single order⟳ picking tour starting from the depot, proceeding along the storage locations defined by the respective customer order⟳, and ending at the depot.”
