Meaning of catchpit | Babel Free

Noun CEFR B2

Definitions

A chamber in a drainage system designed to catch sediment and debris.

Examples

“A typical catchpit consists of a stack of concrete segments that form a chamber. They normally have open joints or weepholes when part of a surface water drain (one that collects water from the surface of surrounding ground).
