Section 34 For the purpose of preventing and controlling communicable diseases, when there occurs a hazardous communicable disease or epidemic or [when] there is a cause to suspect that a hazardous communicable disease or epidemic has occurred in the territory of any district, the communicable disease control officer in that district shall have the power to carry out the following acts himself or issue an order in writing directing anyone to carry [them] out...

“มาตรา ๔๒ ในกรณีที่พบว่า ผู้เดินทางเป็น หรือมีเหตุอันควรสงสัยว่า เป็นโรคติดต่ออันตราย โรคระบาด หรือพาหะนำโรค ให้เจ้าพนักงานควบคุมโรคติดต่อประจำด่านควบคุมโรคติดต่อระหว่างประเทศมีอำนาจสั่งให้บุคคลดังกล่าวถูกแยกกัก กักกัน คุมไว้สังเกต หรือได้รับการสร้างเสริมภูมิคุ้มกันโรค”

Section 42 In the event where [it is] found that a traveller is or [where] there is a reasonable cause to suspect that [he] is infected with a hazardous communicable disease [or] epidemic or [is] a disease carrier, the communicable disease control officer in charge of the [responsible] international communicable disease control checkpoint shall have the power to order the said person to be isolated, quarantined, [or] detained for observation or to receive immunisation.
