Section 1299 Subject to the provisions of the present Code or other law, it is hereby prescribed that the acquisition of immovable property or a real right concerning immovable property by means of a juristic act is not complete, save where the juristic act has been made in writing and the acquisition has been registered by the competent authority. Should there be anyone acquiring immovable property or a real right concerning immovable property by any other means than a juristic act, it is said that there can be no change in the register in relation to the right of the acquiror, unless the right has been registered. And the right which is not yet registered may not be set up as a defence against a third party who has acquired a right for value and in good faith and has registered his right in good faith.
