Section 1598/38 Maintenance may be claimed between the husband and wife or between the parents and child when the party entitled to receive maintenance has not been given any maintenance or has been given the maintenance insufficient to his or her living conditions. The court may award this maintenance to any extent or may not award it at all, having regard to the ability of the person obliged to maintain, the status of the recipient, and the circumstances of the case.
