Section 226 [Any] material evidence, documentary evidence, or oral evidence which may prove the guilt or innocence of the defendant may be cited as evidence.

Section 94 Where there is a law requiring the production of documentary evidence, prohibited shall be the court from permitting the admission of oral evidence in any of the following cases, even though the other party has consented thereto: (a) the taking of oral evidence in lieu of documentary evidence is requested when the document cannot be brought in and produced;
