Definitioner

To food poison; to (often accidentally) cause harm and sickness to someone via their food, by either food-borne disease, toxin or (rarely) poison.

“Jag har haft en otroligt konstig helg. Jag har varit i Stockholm hela helgen, och gjort en massa olika saker, och i fredags blev jag matförgiftad... eller, jag fick matförgiftning. "Blev matförgiftad" låter som jag nån romersk kejsare – att någon har hällt nått skit ur en ring i min mat, eller något sånt där.”

I’ve had an incredibly weird weekend. I’ve been in Stockholm the whole weekend, doing all sorts of different things, and on Friday I got food poisoned... or, I had food poisoning. “Got food poisoned” sounds like I’m some Roman emperor – that someone poured some crap from a ring into my food or something like that.
