1. an iron weighing station and storehouse; major Swedish cities in the 18th and 19th centuries had these central storehouses for receiving the newly produced pig and bar iron from the ironworks, as a requirement for export; the legal requirement was abolished in 1864 and the last storehouse closed in 1890
