...It's weird that I remember [the taste of] Hamheung Naengmyon again [after eating at this place]. The speaker fled to Sokcho from his hometown as a 20 year old during the Korean war which (at the time of the video) was 60 years ago. Thus, it is plausible that his use of the word is the result of influence from the Yeongdong Gangwon dialect traditionally spoken in Sokcho. However, Yeoheung county is sometimes considered to speak the Yeongdong dialect, which includes Gangwon, meaning that it may not necessarily be the result of influence from the Sokcho dialect.
