After all of this the amir sends becoming gifts to the shahanshah and asks to accept them as a genuine token of his sincere friendship to the Armenian nation and king.

In the year 961 Ashot III Bagratuni, who bore the byname Merciful, was solemnly anointed in Ani as the king of Armenia with the title “shahanshah” (king of kings).
