Every family considered it an honor and a necessity to have the publications of the encyclopedia in its home library. Despite the rich tradition of our people in creating encyclopedic literature (references, dictionaries, etc.), the [Soviet] Armenian encyclopedia presented itself to the reader for the first time as a comprehensive, seriously edited scientific reference in Armenian (of course, in some respects giving its due to the ideology of the time).
