“וַתִּלָּקַח אֶסְתֵּר אֶל־הַמֶּלֶךְ אֲחַשְׁוֵרוֹשׁ אֶל־בֵּית מַלְכוּתוֹ בַּחֹדֶשׁ הָעֲשִׂירִי הוּא־חֹדֶשׁ טֵבֵת בִּשְׁנַת־שֶׁבַע לְמַלְכוּתוֹ׃”

So Esther was taken unto king Ahasuerus into his house royal in the tenth month, which is the month Tebeth, in the seventh year of his reign.

“רֹאשׁ חֹדֶשׁ טֵבֵת שֶׁחָל לִהְיוֹת בַּשַּׁבָּת — מְבִיאִין שָׁלֹשׁ תּוֹרוֹת, וְקוֹרִין בָּהֶן אֶחָד בְּעִנְיָינוֹ שֶׁל יוֹם, וְאֶחָד בִּדְרֹאשׁ חוֹדֶשׁ, וְאֶחָד בַּחֲנוּכָּה.”

When the new moon of Tevet falls on a Sabbath, they take out three Torah scrolls, and read from them: one for the daily reading, and one for the new moon, and one for Chanukah.
