And he says the name as it is written, that is the name that is pronounced from [the letters] yod-he-vav-he, which is the explicit name that is mentioned in every place. And in the country [i.e. outside the Temple] they say it with its alternative name, which is with [the letters] aleph-dalet[-nun-yod] because only in the Temple would they mention the name as it is written.
