The unattested early stage of the Tagalog language, spoken and sparsely written in the Baybayin script before Spanish contact, that derived from Central Philippine languages and already containing loanwords from Old Malay, Classical Sanskrit, Classical Arabic, Middle Tamil, Classical Persian, Old Javanese, and possibly Medieval Southern Min Chinese and/or Late Middle Chinese, later evolving into Classical Tagalog.
