Definitions

A species of fish eagle found in much of Africa, Haliaeetus vocifer.

Equivalents

Examples

“Despite being compellingly photogenic, many eagles are difficult photographic targets, particularly when there is bright sunlight. This is due to the huge dynamic range in the light they reflect. In a Bald Eagle or African Fish Eagle (Haliaeetus vocifer), for example, the head and tail can be as white as a field of fresh snow in sunshine, while the underside of the wings can be like a dark alley at night. Although the human eye can discern detail at both ends of this wide spectrum, the camera is unlikely to be as successful.”
