Examples

“Janka sprytny byŭ chłapčuk, ale ješče nie chadziŭ u škołu, dyk dziwiŭsia, jak jaho brat starejšy, katory byŭ užo u školi, moh raspaznać i ŭ lesi, i ŭ poli, dzie jakaja starana świetu.”

Janka was a clever boy, but since he hadn't started school yet, he wondered about how his older brother, who was already in school, was able to determine cardinal directions both in the forest and in the field.

Janka, a little seven-year-old boy, who was herding geese in the meadow by the river, gazed with astonished cornflower-blue eyes at the vast surrounding world and couldn't get enough of it. He saw wonders upon wonders at every step:

We see that from mid-1915 to 1918, very little was written by Janka Kupała. Moreover, there is no published work that can be attributed to the years 1916 or 1917.
