The dough is mixed with water and (not always) with eggs. Chopped lamb, veal or beef is used for the filling, with the addition of various spices, onions, pepper and salt. The Tatars eat stuffed dumplings with a spoon, in order not to tear the dough and not to let the juice leak — it's a delicacy for gourmets.

Using all their skills, the housewives cooked a lot of things, including fluffy Greek pancakes, which were good to eat with any cracklings. They made maczanka and potato pancakes with meat filling from finely grated potatoes.
