To be psychologically or societally alienated. Different to Ghurba (غربة), as Ghurba is the physical alienation whilst Ightarib is the psychological alienation.

The motives of alienation [Ghurba] are mostly socio-economic-political or even psychological, while the motives of alienation [Ightarib] remain psychological only.
